Below are route and packing guides I used during my motorcycle adventures:
Routes
A consolidation of all the multi-day motorcycle trips I have taken:
Riding a 2012 BMW 650GS Motorcycle in 2012 from Calgary through the Yukon and Alaska, up the Dempster Highway to Inuvik and on to Tuktoyaktuk. Approximately 10,000km round trip:
Calgary to Inuvik (Tuktoyuktuk) in 2012
Riding a 2003 Kawasaki KLR 650 Motorcycle in 2007 from Calgary through the US and Baja to Cabo San Lucas. Approximately 10,000km round trip:
My Bikes
The bike is a 2012 BMW G650GS Serato, essentially a cosmetically updated F650GS Dakar of years back. This is the bike I rode to the Arctic Ocean:
Its not the 1200GSA, but it’s a proven ride.
2003 Kawasaki KLR 650 that I took to Cabo San Lucas:
Packing List
Knowing what to pack on a motorcycle trip is difficult, I built this list over the month leading up to my departure and thought others could find some benefit. I left out all the detailed tools I brought, but the roll is loaded with all the tools I will need to do any roadside repair.

Hey Tyler,
Get a good nights sleep, you have locked a lot of riding hours. How is the butt holding up?
Take Care, Ride carefully and enjoy.
Dude…great pics…next year we do it without motors…
